VIDES Medical Mission

On May 30, 2009, VIDES Volunteers arrived at noontime in order to prepare for the medical mission intended for the 400 Busina Mo, Dunong Ko Kids and 100 mothers of Bgy. 143, Gamban, Riverside, Pasay City.The medical mission was held at the 2nd floor of the Parish Hall of San Roque Parish, Cabrera Street, Pasay City. It started at 1:00 PM and ended at 5:00 PM.Rev. Fr. Joey Tuazon, Parish Priest, has given his approval weeks before the use of the hall for this activity.VIDES Volunteers stationed themselves accordingly in order to accommodate their patients.The following steps were taken for the Medical Mission proper:Step 1: Height Measurement Step 2: Weight Measurement Step 2a: Body Temperature for ChildrenStep 2b: Blood Pressure for MothersStep 3: Medical InterviewStep 4: Consultation with Doctors (Pagamutan)Step 5: Dispensary (Botika)Step 6: Distribution of Milk, Juices, and BreadOther activities included nailcutting and counseling. Due to the rain (and therefore lack of proper space), the haircutting session was cancelled. Volunteers' assistance was remarkably active and present.The volunteers of LIVE (Life Improvement through Volunteer Experience) headed by Atty. Sonia Em joined this activity.
